Spotted: a well fashioned manicure on the runways of New York fashion week.

This year, Prabal Gurung’s show was noted for more than just its collection. Each of the models wore a beige and coral striped manicure. Critics proclaimed that the manicure pulled the collection together and allowed the show to be cohesive.

So, has a well manicured hand become the newest fashion accessory? I wouldn’t be suprised! Runways spark the latest and greatest in fashion trends! Did ya know, for instance, that when models wore red lipstick on the runway the lipstick sales skyrocketed, selling even more than lip gloss!

Not only has a manicure made its way into fashion headlines, designers are viewing the fine paint job as a type of wearable art, comparing color choices to swatches of fabric. The names of polish choices get catchier and catchier too. Next time your friend asks tells you how cute your outfit is a response should be, “well of course! This is my favorite shade, OPI ‘makes men blush.’”

So girls, time to get on the fashion bandwagon and spruce up those nails! An enjoyable way to make every girl feel like she’s on her very own runway.
