Cartier and America, a special exhibit at San Francisco museum Legion of Honor, opened on December 19 2009 and will run through April 18, 2010.
The exhibition marks the 100th anniversary of Cartier’s first boutique in the USA. Visitors can ooh and awe over jewelry worn by Grace Kelley and Elizabeth Taylor. Curators collected over 300 decorative items, fashion items, and jewelry from the famous Geneva vault in addition to many US and French private collections.
Cartier’s jewelry are not only gorgeous pieces of art, but also a timeline of social behavior and fashion. Visitors can see the evolution of more conservative fashions to lavish and decadent pieces. We’re sure this exhibit will make diamonds everybody’s best friend!
