Macy’s in San Francisco’s bustling Union Square  invited Pinkies Nail Salons to their exclusive launching of the b.tempt’d bra line from Wacoal on Friday, April 10. Two of our fabulous nail technicians from Pinkies Potrero Hill performed complementary mini manicures to each customer who tried on a b.tempt’d bra. Customers who purchased an item from the b.temp’d line received a Pinkies gift card.

Shoppers (and Pinkies staff) enjoyed tasty cookies and beverages while listening to a live DJ. We were able to meet so many new people while we gave our Mini Manicures. Pinkies loves getting out into the community and working with new and exciting companies and organizations. The event was a huge success, and we can’t work with our new friends at Macy’s again!

Our salon resides at the top of Potrero Hill in San Francisco overlooking the city skyline and the bay. The neighborhood is very relaxed with several restaurants and coffee shops very close to the salon.

Our long time manager, Carmen, and our front desk expert, Oge, are ready to make your Pinkies experience as fabulous as it can be. If you know the name of the polish you like, Carmen and Oge are masters at picking it out on the shelf before you can even blink. You might even get to meet our owner Connie’s giant shnauzer, Bella, who loves to dress up for Farley’s Costume Pet Parade.

Our seasoned technicians will give you fabulous manicures, pedicures, and waxes! You’ll see why our clients continue to come back for our waxes. Pinkies Potrero Hill has some amazing non-natural technicians who can give you the best treatments as well as fantastic nail designs.

Pinkies Potrero Hill is the only Pinkies offering spray tans. These tans give you a natural glow without  exposing skin to harsh UV rays. We know how hard it can be to maintain a tan in all this city fog!

Get away from loud and busy neighborhoods, and venture into Potrero Hill for a special, personal experience in nail treatments. Don’t forget to become our Facebook fan and sign up for special email offers so you can stay up to date with the latest Pinkies news and promotions.

On October 28, 2009, H2H and H2H 4 Teens hosted a special event at Pinkies Nail Salon in Los Altos–Girls Night Out: Manicures, Pedicures, and Breast Cancer Awareness. Women recieved services while a series of speakers discussed women’s health issues.

Hope to Health (H2H) and Hope to Health Teens (H2H) are two volunteer and philanthropic groups of the El Camino Hospital Foundation. They strive to bring women and teen health issues to light in the community as well as raise money for such services as health care for low-income women and care packets for women breast cancer patients.

On October 28, 50 women gathered at Pinkies Los Altos to learn about their health and get pampered. The program included a presentation on breast cancer risk factors, prevention, and therapetuic advances, a presentation on healthy eating tips, and a presentation on flu shots and the H1N1 virus. Dr. Vandana Sharma, Dr. Amanda Cooley, and Dr. Daniel Shim offered their expert knowledge and answered all questions.

Participants found the event not only fun, but educational and useful for their lives.

We had the pleasure of meeting Logan & Noah Miller at their book signing event at Rakestraw Books in Danville. miller_logan__noah

The brothers talked about their new book, Either You’re In or You’re In the Way:Two Brothers, Twelve Months, and One Filmmaking Hell-ride to Keep a Promise to Their Father. The inspiring, hilarious, implausible, and touching story of twin brothers accomplishing the impossible — making a feature film (with a cast and crew with 11 Academy Awards and 26 nominations) with no experience, no money and no contacts — and in so doing, creating a better life for themselves.

When identical twin brothers Logan and Noah Miller’s homeless father died alone in a jail cell, they vowed, come hell or high water, their film, Touching Home, would be made as a dedication to their love for him. Either You’re in or You’re in the Way is the amazing story of how — without a dime to their names nor a single meaningful contact in Hollywood — they managed to write, produce, direct, and act in a feature film alongside four-time Academy Award-nominated actor Ed Harris and fellow nominees Brad Dourif and Robert Forster.

We thoroughly enjoyed listening to Noah & Logan reading from their book. Much of their life experience growing up is shocking to read. They finish and start each other’s sentences, share everything, and each put the other first. It was not only entertaining but very moving to witness their indescribably tight bond.

The Miller brothers’ movie, Touching Home, will likely be released next spring and is sure to be a hit. To learn more about the Miller brothers and their unique filmmaking journey, click here.

san-ramon-valley-wolves1Pinkies Nail Salons actively engages with the local education system by participating in a Diablo Valley College class, taught at San Ramon Valley High, to increase their market share. Two experienced and ambitious entrepreneurs started Pinkies Nail Salons, a local nail salon, five years ago. They already have six locations in the Bay Area.

Diablo Valley College is a local college with multiple locations in the East Bay Area. They recently started teaching “Intro to Advertising” at San Ramon Valley High School. The curriculum quickly goes over the concepts of advertising and exposes the students to the world of marketing. The class is open to all students at San Ramon Valley. The class offers college credits, a GPA boost, or just a way to dive into the advertising field.

Connie Kulberg and Derik Landry, the entrepreneurs and owners of Pinkies Nail Salons, visited the class to pitch the company’s history as well as provide the class with descriptions of Pinkies services and products. They broke the students into four groups based type of advertising: Promotional, Public Relation, Print, and Web. The students particpated in real life advertising.

”Engaging in our local schools is more than good business,” Kulberg says, “it’s our responsibility.” Throughout the term, Connie and Derik made themselves available to the class and enjoyed seeing the presentations at the conclusion of the project.
